VW Golf Mk2 5-door 1.6CL which I have owned for around 5 years and have used regularly as our runaround however a baby on the way means we are reluctantly forced to let her go and get something much more boring and sensible.
Excellent condition considering age and has covered only 56,500 documented miles. Completely original except for a manual choke Webber carburettor which was fitted a couple of years ago to replace the original Pierburg unit, and a set of new G60 steel wheels to replace the rusted originals were fitted 3 years ago.
Mechanically excellent, starts first time and runs beautifully even on the coldest mornings. A new alternator was fitted around three years ago. Rear suspension just been fully refurbished with new shocks, springs and bushes. Four good tyres fitted a few years back with only around 15k miles on them so plenty of wear left.
Cosmetically the bodywork is in good condition for it’s age however there are some small areas of rust in usual areas such as the windscreen wiper grommet and around wheel arches and the paintwork is beginning to look a little faded on the front wings. Generally good though and always turns heads – people are always admiring her in the car park!
Interior is lovely grey tweed and is in fantastic condition and very comfortable. Original Panasonic radio cassette player still in perfect working order.
