I wanted to add my son to my policy and the club insurer were unable to do it. But I've been with Lancaster previously on a classic policy. They couldn't add a learner to a classic policy but were able to move me to a mainstream policy which he could be added too and it was a better deal than anyone else.
I just went with clear plastic on mine. I think at the time we’d recently bought a new mattress or something so had large sheets of the packaging. I’m not sure the foam stuff they do now would be as flexible but I’m sure some people have used it.
Hiya! I'm a new member! I'm in Gloucestershire, I bought my 89 GTi from a lovely couple in Leeds so I guess that's one more in the SW!
@Clomojo there's North Bristol meet this Friday. There are a fair few of us along the M5 stretch between Bristol and Gloucester that attend every month, Thornbury, Dursley, Stroud, Quedgeley etc.
The seats will be different. Mk3 seats are wider. So you might be able to pull the covers onto mk2 frames but they will be saggy and it’s likely the fixings won’t line up.
You can fit the whole mk3 seat into a mk2, but you have to cut and weld the base.
Alternatively you could make use of the fabric to repair worn mk2 seats if that’s what you need. Are you any good at sewing?
