Hello, recently acquired an 87 Golf that was stored for 20 years. Really clean in and out. Automatic transmission. Installed a new battery and then opened the drivers door to get in and when I opened the door, the engine began cranking. Continued til I pulled the battery cable. Car will turnover with key out of ignition and ignition in off position if you open driver or passenger door. I then replaced the ignition switch. Sadly, problem continues.
