Just been out in it today and yes it's the same on left or right full lock. One other thing I have noticed is that the turns from centre to full lock are not even in both directions, it's 1 1\2 in one direction and 1 3\4 in the other.
Out of interest how are you adjusting camber, I was under the impression only front toe was adjustable on the MK2 with std struts?
I'm after some ideas of what to look at with regards to my issue, especially from anyone who has experienced this before.
As the title of the post says, currently my steering isn't automatically returning to centre when on full lock, if you let go of the steering wheel the car just keeps on going in a circle rather than straightening up! I noticed this after replacing the front sub-frame, both control arms and fitting a new power steering belt. I've had the front toe set to zero and lubricated the lower universal joint to see if this resolves the issue but unfortunately not.
Any recommendations as to what to look at next would be greatly appreciated.
I'm after some more invaluable advice if you could please!
The front sub-frame on my 91' GTi 16v is looking a bit like a patchwork quilt so is in need of replacement, does anyone have experience of a decent aftermarket option? Ideally I'd like to source a genuine 2nd hand one but failing that aftermarket will be my only option.
Fingers crossed one of you can point me in the right direction!
I need to replace the wing mirror glass on my 91' GTi and want to know which glass, flat or convex, to get for off side & near side, and if anyone can recommend where to source them from with the backing plate.
I'm looking to replace the Mk2 rear calipers on my 16v GTI with late Mk3 ones as I believe this is an easy upgrade to help prevent the caliper from sticking. Can someone clarify what the difference is please, I've read that it is to do with the spring position changing from 'external to 'internal' but all the Mk2 and Mk3 ones on the internet look the same, with an external handbrake cable spring, and I don't want to get the wrong ones.
I'm hoping one of you answer the following question!
When I bought my Mk2 gti it had lowered suspension & in order to fit the j6x15 bbs ra's the previous owner fitted 175/50xR15 tyres. I've now reinstated the std suspension and the wheels & tyres don't fill the arches anymore, does anyone know what tyre size came on the wheels as std out of the factory, was it 185/55xR15's?
There are 4 per side and I only have 4 in total that are in good order, the others have rusted to an unusable stated therefore in need of some more.
You'll see from the pictures that it seems as though the window seal retains water along the bottom edge which causes the clips to rust and ultimately the bodywork to rust through as well so it's worth trying to have a look under there to see what's going on!

Afternoon all, I'm hoping someone can help me in sourcing some clips.
I need some replacement rear door card retaining clips for a 3 door which mount to the rear window frames under the seal and retain the top of the door card (see pictures which are hopefully attached somewhere). I can't find any reference to these on the tinterweb anywhere so have no idea what the part number is or if they are still available.
I've enquired with Mat at Mk2 spares and will also enquire with Dubstock, has anyone had to source these in the past or does anyone know of an alternative suitable fixing method?
The Golf is going in for some bodywork next month so I need to source these before the windows go back in after that's been carried out.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

I'm a newbie to the forum and I'm after some advice if you would be so kind.
My Mk2 GTI is going in for some bodywork repairs next month, rear valance, rear arches and sills are getting replaced with KLOKKERHOLME repair panels as these seem to be the best well know reproduction ones you can get from what I can see. It also needs a set of new front wings, are there any decent reproduction ones available on the market which aren't a pain to fit up properly?
