Title: Clutch not fitting over crankshaft end?!?
Post by: hinezy92 on August 10, 2021, 09:48:11 PM
I have managed to get the pressure plate off which was a struggle. It was on so tight!

Offered up the new clutch and its as though the clutch centre hole is too small for the crankshaft end. Is this normal? I thought it should just slot straight over with no issues and then bolt up.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I don't want to force the new one on.

Cheers,

Charlie

I was sold a 16v gearbox by mistake once. Box wouldn’t marry to the clutch as the input shaft it larger. Have you got a 16v and 8v clutch kit?

Hi Eddy, I have an 020 gearbox. I bought the following clutch as its the same as what was already in the car but thinking now the previous owner forced the pressure plate on as it was a PITA to get off!!
