hi all new to the forum side of the golfs.
I have a mk2 1.8 16v that I'm re-building, I want to put a side vent in the wing like a t4 van has, I've been told that a gtd air box has a side inlet for the air and will work with my engine is this correct or do I need to make my own and get a flexy to it
thanks for any advice.
If you’re not changing the engine you’re stuck with the air box you have. A 16v has the fuel metering head on top and uses the airflow to control the fuel injection.
A GTD, or any other air box will be no use to you.
What you can do though is fit a pipercross bottom half specifically for k-jet.
Like so:

But be aware, you can buy it for less from other places.
What year 16v though? Not sure this is available for late spec ones.
