Nice neat welding and minimal filler, looks like they are doing a quality job. Wish mine was as neat

Today I found some more of the dreaded rust on mine, bottom of the windscreen driver's side and a few holes round the bottom of the fuel filler cap. Oh 8u993r. Looking at the fuel filler pic above confirms what I have found out. It IS a double skin, I'd been trying to keep the arches clean and thought it was a single skin...so how has the moisture got in there?

I think the stud that you use to secure the top of fuel tank rusts partly due to dirt and water getting flicked up from the wheel

So, since the last update the car has been painted! Here's a few pics of it pretty much straight after paint:

Also a nice coating of Schutz spray for added protection, which is a nice bonus.

Almost there now!

Looking good and looking forward to seeing it back together. You're going to have fun cleaning all the dust out of your engine bay :D

Definitely mate, I'll be sure to give it a proper once over before taking it away though.

Thanks bud. I'm picking it up this weekend so I'll be putting it all back together next week hopefully, I booked the week off work to do it! I'll be sure to give everything a good clean, I'll make sure the foam airbox is minty fresh. Pictures will be uploaded soon  :)

It's back!

Picked it up today and I must say it obviously looks a lot better than it did, that's for sure! Plenty planned this week as I clean it up and put it back together, of course I'll post as I do bits and bobs.

In the meantime, here's some pics from when I picked it up:

I was going to ask about sill stickers, then I had a sneaky suspicion you have a bbs bodykit up your sleeve?

Looking great though.

Well spotted bud! Unfortunately, the sill stickers I had provided wouldn't line up properly for some reason. I've got another set which is hopefully being applied Wednesday by a local Vinyl wrap company. It does look wrong without it.

And thanks mate!

Stickers off ebay mate. Let me know if you can't find them.

I do have proper covers to fit as well, haven't got round to it yet.

Just my personal preference but I do prefer amber rears on early cars instead of smoked, dunno just me!
