radio

I am a bit of nerd for originality my 1990 8v gti has had an alpine cd player fitted. What I would like to know is what radio cassette model should be fitted?

Courtesy of L90E when he sent me some copies of brochures, these are the options.......

Might depend on the model year your car's from - I think the UK 1991 model year GTI 8v's (made from Oct. '90) had the Panasonic H05 as standard, though you could 'trade up' to anything else you see there... it's the one pictured third column, second down.

If you've a 1990 model year car - made between Oct. 1989 to the end of Sept 1990 (August in reality because of the factory summer closure) I'm not sure about.

I've a habit of saving links to things like this - plenty of detailed photo's and a really useful source of visual info.

It's an August 1991 registered car, but likely manufactured long before that as the new MK3 was just around the corner.

my car is a 1990 model on ebay was a cq50 which works and seems cheap so I bought it.

I'm sure that's the one I had in my 89 as well, sure I have a pic somewhere
