Engine build

Currently building a 2.0 8v engine with big valve pb head ported and polished agg bottom end will also be fitting a newman 272 cam once engine is in and running just wondering as its states on the newman site that can be used with original cam pulley is there any benefit from using an adjustable pulley or would standard be ok to use

I'd use standard, the adjustable one can be a nightmare to get set up right.

To get the best out of the engine an vernier pulley is a must, as if either the block or head have been decked or skimmed then the timing will need adjusting.

Less material on the head, heads closer to the block, timing belt will need more tension as itll be to long in turn moving the standard cam timing mark.

It'll run but an extra 160 quid will allow the tuner to get the engine performing as it should with the extra work
