Replacement coilover suggestions / help

Hi All,

Having checked my car over this weekend for it's mot I've noticed the front top mounts have well and truly had it. The car currently has Gas coilovers fitted thanks to previous owner but these are also well past their best so I'm looking to replace.
I love the lowered look of the car but wouldn't say it handles nice on country roads which defeats the point of it for me.
The car has a 20v turbo conversion so I'm guessing a little heavier than standard up front, Not interested in track set up but more of a weekend country road blaster in the summer months.

What set up seems to work best? Will an OE shock lowering spring with new mounts be the best set up? Or a different brand of coilover?

Gaz coilovers are regarded as very good units.
Depending on which ones you have, it may be best for you to send them back to them and tell them what you have.
They can then rebuild your suspension to your specifications.
Would probably cost less than a brand new set of decent ones.

Hi Monkey, Yes that's what I thought but these are terrible in their current state but they do look pretty old. Top mounts are absolutely shagged. I'll look into it, thanks.

Might be worth sending off a couple photos to Gaz.
They can advise you how much a refurb would cost.

A mate had some KWv3s on his Bora that were well past their best.
Sent them off, paid about £500 and they came back like new.
