Re: New member seeking help already Reply #15 – December 19, 2023, 01:22:39 PM to be honest, it reminds me of the countless times ive had issues with coils in past from cars to cynlinder mowers, run for 20 mins, cut out completely, once cooled down, will re start as if you was dreaming the whole thing up, for it to run similar time an stop dead all over again
Re: New member seeking help already Reply #16 – December 31, 2023, 01:00:38 PM Good afternoon, Welcome to the forum, I don't use very often, but was just have a quick look around.Did you get the issue sorted out with your gti?The interesting point to take into account is the temperature. If only cuts out when hot, but starts & runs when cold, then pretty much spark, fuel , air ,timing could be ruled out. Only thing that's really changing is what the ecu is showing when hot. Ie temp sensor. Does the temperature gauge show correctly? If remember correctly there's 2 sensors, 1 for ecu & 1 for temp gauge.I'd checked the resistance on sensor, should change when gets hot & cold. 1 Likes
Re: New member seeking help already Reply #17 – January 01, 2024, 07:23:33 PM Hi thanks for that.im still struggling with this. i'v now got it to run at 1200rpm and the same thing happens. Yeah im starting to think it can't be any of those things. The temp sensor works but it barely moves because it cuts out before it reaches temperature. I'll have a look at the two sensors that would make sense if they not working.
