Does this look right

Ever since I can remember our 16v has had a fuel leak when starting from cold from the pipes from the fuel pump. Once warm it stops but I can't help thinking this doesn't look quite right, but try as I might, I can't get the pipe to budge further as there's that shoulder there.

Any advice?

If that's a fuel pipe I wouldn't be using a  jubilee clip on it. They tend to pinch in one area therefore leak. I suspect over the years it's been changed and the original correct type has not been replaced. I would use a fuel hose clip. I would also think that may not be totally correct. It may be an ear type clamp or even a push fit that goes over the shoulder. ETKA may show the original type of fitting/clamp used.

they are not the correct hoses for that area.. thats the fuel accumulator, should be a banjo to pump and screw nut.  a decent attempt though, you can get good clips that close better.

Thanks chaps.

First of all I'll try the proper fuel hose clip as suggested by Kenneth, as the whole accumulator and fittings were replaced with new a while back, but obviously the wrong clips used. I'll see if that makes a difference. Failing that, I may need to change the connections...

Ali, What does the other end of those pipes look like?

Looks like someone has done a diy job, which is not ideal on a high pressure system, and whilst replacing the jubilee clips with proper fuel pipe clips will be ok I know I'd feel happier with the correct pipes and unions if it was my car.

These are the pipes you should have, pump to accumulator and accumulator to filter.:

Not cheap though so I can understand the reason for making some up
