trailer indicator warning light

in germany, it is mandatory to have a green
trailer indicator warning light in the cockpit. how is it in the uk ?

which is the professional way of equipping a mk2 with such ?
would it somehow go into the facia panel ?

But as far as I know in the UK we only need an audible sounds/beeper for trailer board indicators. This is usually a small module that comes with the tow bar fixing kit and is often wired into the boot, where the trailer lights hook into the rear lamp cluster, it can be heard well enough inside the cabin from there.
