Hello

I’ve just joined this forum and a little IT illiterate so hoping this reaches right people

I’m mid 40’s and now my kids are a little more grown up I’m looking at ditching my boggy SUV ( that I needed for strollers and wood and so on from B&q) and getting a car for me, namely Mk2 golf

I live in London and was wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere I can source a good condition MK2 alongside where I can get tasteful refurbishment to do all/ any of the following done:

- interior (would like a few mod cons)
- up graded engine (as a kid mine was a VR6 but thinking of something slightly more updated - fast but not too loud sounding)
- upgraded steering
- maybe bodywork ‘smoothed’ a little (sort of European style)
- paint job
- alloys
- hydroloc suspension (not the bounce around sort, just self levelling and to get over large speed bumps)

Sorry if this all sounds a bit much but I’ve not really got any contacts where I live (London and just been running kids around here for past few years rather than perusing what I’m actually interested in) and a steer would be much appreciated!!
