New Member with a fast idle problem already 🙂 October 21, 2023, 10:12:01 PM Hi recent purchase of a 1990 1.6 petrol MK2 with 46,000 miles. With recent 400 mile journey car developed a problem with a fast idle in neutral roughly 2/3000 revs. No leaking hoses and carb sealed not drawing in air both thermostat sensors replaced but still nothing, still running fast. Any suggestions on where to look next?

Re: New Member with a fast idle problem already 🙂 Reply #2 – October 24, 2023, 01:17:48 PM Think I seem to remember my carb golf doing the same. and it turned out to be the thick rubber carburetor mount being split. But might not be that worth checking. Last Edit: October 24, 2023, 01:21:15 PM by Dmal
