Front wheels on mk2

Hi guys, I want to buy new wheels for my Mk2, but I don't know if I can fit them on the front without a lot of cutting. The wheels are Borbet A, 16 inch, 9J, and ET 15. I don't have GTI wider arches and I'm sitting on Maxpeedingrods suspension.

personally, an can happily be corrected here, gti's dont have flared arches, its just the fact they have plastic trim for cosmetic looks, but like i say happy to be corrected

The only advantage your get is, you could cut the lip off badly, an it would be masked by the arch trim cover

Correct, gti trims fit over standard wings. They’re just aesthetic. Apart from G60 arch trims which are wider and G60 wings have cut outs at the top. So fitting G60 trims to standard wings requires cutting of the metal from the top lip of the wing.

9” on the front sounds big. You may get away with it with big stretch on the tyres but that’s not to everyone’s taste.

i should of added even cut badly, like the g60 option, its just the thickness of the metal your gaining,
