‘all that glisters is not gold’

Bank Holiday debate:
Have, not for first time, come across another full page ad for ‘FTC Fuel tank pellets’ extolling virtues of this once only fix to achieve removal of and build up of carbon deposits resulting in restoration of lost performance and efficiency?
While the ‘science’ seems unchallenged by experts it seems evidence of worthwhile gains are thin on the ground. Honest John simply reports use of branded petrol is sufficient.
Any out there actually taken a punt in this direction and witnessed any benefits?

Screams of snake oil to me, and after suffering seriously from fuel contamination (long story) I would be reluctant to put any third party product in my fuel tank for fear of it degrading and causing unknown issues.

Use super unleaded, change fuel filter
