Re: plastic-parts for 3d-printing Reply #5 – February 15, 2022, 02:27:08 PM finally my bolt for the radio:carradio backsidestub (@PWardy sry 4 being ->stub<-born, but appreciate..)to the admins:what would you think about a subboard, for instance 3D-Print under car parts or whatever is appropriate, where one could roll out one mk2 plastic part per thread ?thingiverse stuff:differing golf ball gear knob (see here following this, pic here, too)@Monkey i found caps like yours on thingiverse, but also liner nut's, like mine (see threadstarter),which do not have this additional bar on one side.to be continued..edit: dead link Last Edit: November 18, 2022, 07:55:10 PM by mk24ever
Re: plastic-parts for 3d-printing Reply #6 – February 15, 2022, 02:33:55 PM The plastic liner insets are still available new, it is a revised improved design so I have replaced all of mine. Originals like these, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2768548, are in a bag in my attic.
Re: plastic-parts for 3d-printing Reply #7 – February 18, 2022, 02:36:20 PM Is this in your links? No. 2A (191 501 159) I was after some for a long time, before eventually turning up a pair. When I saw them in the flesh thought they could've been printed very easily, saved me a lot of time!Sods law, since found that someone has had the same idea. Re: plastic-parts for 3d-printing Reply #11 – February 26, 2022, 04:11:33 PM @L90E it's not in my links. i came across, but have not thought it would be needed.i made a picture of my screwcap (first link of the thread):unfortunately, the magnet shines through the black resin.i tried painting the part, but this did not turn out that well(too shiny and small bubbles on the frame).is there a way for getting the surface right ?
Re: plastic-parts for 3d-printing Reply #12 – February 26, 2022, 06:42:24 PM I'd say this would be a good candidate for printing https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255098516896?hash=item3b650e75a0:g:rGYAAOSwmXVhHSfW
Re: plastic-parts for 3d-printing Reply #13 – February 26, 2022, 07:23:54 PM How about replacement side skirt clips?I recall most of mine on the reverse side of the skirt are broken. I can see the sill mounts (part number 191 853 913) are still available but from memory mine are all OK. Not sure how durable the plastic used to create the parts is though but if there is a way to make them easily replacable that wouldn't matter.edit:Just found the replacement 'pattern' sill covers on VW Heritage not too expensive if I could extend the shopping list to £75 (edit2 to get free postage) but surely replacement clips would be cheaper. Re: plastic-parts for 3d-printing Reply #14 – February 27, 2022, 02:04:11 AM @t2000, nice easy part, indeed. you could do it, i could do it (measures given). is there demand ?@AndyBa, ah skirt clips, they are called. if cheap, i would have taken originals or replica.but since there are so many parts on my mk2's which are 3d printed, replacing them all would probably burn money, but there might be occasions.recently i posted a picture about a printout of my radio support spigot (see reply 5, backsidestub).it can be found here.
