Competition time - design the logo for the 40th anniversary

Putting this to members-

***Win*** a free weekend at the National Meet 2024. Can you come up with a design for the 40th anniversary of the Mk2 Golf that would be used on advertising, merchandise etc. deadline for eateries 1 November. Members would vote.

Are we talking about the UK 40th anniversary (1984 - 2024)?

I ask as the Golf MK2 was launched in Europe in September 1983, so 2023 should be the official 40th anniversary of the model.

That's good thinking Nick, putting the grill round the centre of the zero. But it makes me think the centre of the 4 is a Type 19 quarter light 😀

I had another quick idea that also includes the Jetta as I think it was also launched in the UK in 1984?

I have used a small bumper Jetta and a big bumper 3dr Golf.

This is only a draft, and the colours can be changed if you wish.

@Sharknose your first design has been given the approval:) so if it’s ok with you the Club would love to use it. As promised I will send you free camping and admission tickets for the meet 19-21 July.
