Splash shield versions

Hey everyone,

I was certain that I'd find an answer on here, but didn't – so resorted to creating an account.

There are a few versions of engine under-tray covers produced for Golf mk2's:

- Ones with an opening in the middle:

- Ones with no opening:

Both note the OE code as "191 805 681J".

Is someone here aware of which engine types could be fitted with the second option?

I believe these were only fitted in diesel cars. And I’ve only ever seen the first one before. I wasn’t aware there were variations.
