Trying to fix stalling issues (Metering head/ fuel lines/ Fuel pumps) February 08, 2025, 06:52:11 PM Hi everyone, I have recently started doing some work on my mk2 golf gti 16v 1989 H reg. A bit of background, it has been sitting in a garage not running for 5 years. Since I have had the car, I have had issues with it stalling when at a standstill. I have bought new fuel lines for the car and have put some new o rings and bolts on the metering head and put it back together. When I reconnected all the lines and the metering head, fuel leaked everywhere when I started it. This is my first time doing anything remotely mechanical with a car, so I am looking for some advice. Is the leaking issue a result of the metering head needing to be reengineered professionally or could it be somewhere in the reinstallation process of putting the fuel lines back on. Should I go ahead and get the metering head reconditioned with KMI (or is there anyone else)? I have also been recommended to get the warmup regulator looked at whilst I am there.I appreciate all advice on this.
