Fuel tank sender GTi16v

Hi all, Looking for a fuel tank sender for my 16v. Mine has started playing up, doesnt read full when full and then other times reads low wrong (ran out of fuel

). Spoke my local Mk2 specialist and he explained they are very hard to find nowadays.

To the best of my knowledge theres no difference between 16v and any other model. The only difference is between early and late cars as there's 3 or 4 pins on the plug. I think 4 pin ones can be used on an early car but you need to convert the plug.

I'm also no aware of there being any difficulty in getting these in good used condition, not more difficult than any other part but I could be wrong.

But before you swap it out, have you inspected it, could be a bad (corroded) connection in the plug or a breakdown in the wire where it bends over the lip of the boot floor. Could be a simple fix.
