Ultimate Dubs

Telford International Centre.

For Many “Dubbers” this is the first show of the season and what a BIG ONE to start it all off!! I have been 3 times now and the sheer size of it amazes me, with inside and outside displays it’s a full day just to see everything. Many big names in the VW world are there and an array of stalls suround the inside show areas with almost everything Dub!

For the Mk2 Owners Club it was an outside stand and thankfully we had an unusualy warm/hot march day, the sun stayed out and we had a great day.

We all met up at the services about 5 miles away and made our way in convoy to the centre set up our stand of G60, Rallye, Tdi, 20VT, 16v , 8v and vr6 24v (variety eh???) and then had chance for a chat, relax and then the long walk around the show.

There’s something for everyone a UD a mainly watercooled event but with the odd beetle and camper thrown in, some excellent work is turned out and many a trailor queen grace the inside and concours areas. Outside is mostly consisting of club stands and private entrys, where to be honest, I found most inspiration and original ideas.

Facilities are fantastic as you would expect from such a venue however food etc isn’t the cheapest and I would recommend taking your own food, saves on the queing too!

All in all a great way to start the VW show calendar and a show I will go to again and again, it would be nice to have a display both inside and out next year so you concours guys keep an eye out!
